Finally, after years of testing and development, Porsche is ready to let the journalists driver the highly anticipated 918 hyper car. It is not the finished product, as there is still a few issues they need to address; issues such as the feel of the brake pedal. But that performance numbers are pretty much final; 887 horsepower, 920 lb-ft of torque, 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0 to 300 km/h in 23 seconds, and top speed of 350 km/h.
In this video Chris Harris drives the pre-production 918 at Leipzig and talks us through some of the details of this amazing hyper car. According to Chris, the perfect 918 should ditch the electric motors and rely only on its 650 hp V8 engine. Losing the batteries will reduce the weight from 1,600 to 1,100 kg, so you see his point.
