The world is waiting with baited breath to see the new LaFerrari hyper car in action, but at Maranello they are already working on a more extreme version of the car, according to the latest reports. Think of it as the LaFerrari Evo with less weight, more power, and a mahoosive price tag.

The standard LaFerrari – limited to 499 units and priced at $1.3 million – weighs 1260 kg and makes 960 horsepower from a hybrid V12 powertrain. The ‘extreme’ version has a targeted weight of nor more than 1,000 kg. Even it doesn’t get any more power, which it probably will, that results in an insane power-to-weight ratio. And will top speed limiter stopping the car from going past 350 km/h, Ferrari could have a new speed king.

Production of the LaFerrari LaExtreme will be strictly limited – probably no more than 10 units – and it will cost somewhere between $4 million and $8 million!

“When we were producing the original design proposals for LaFerrari,” said Manzoni, “there was one proposal that I thought was especially beautiful. So we decided to keep that one back for something truly special in the future.”
