To give the media a little something on the P1, McLaren let a couple of journalists inside its technical center in Woking and allowed them to film a prototype P1 revving its engine. This yellow car is a test unit on its way to Germany, which is why it has an unusually high ride height and no spoiler.
McLaren P1 has a 916 hp (903bhp) hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbo V8 which it shares with the 12C, and an electric motor. It is limited to 375 units, each costing $1.3 million, with 250 units already sold. Most of the buyers have reportedly bought two, probably because they know that in a year or two the car is going to worth almost twice as what they have paid for it. That is usually the case with million dollar limited edition hyper cars.
