Aston Martin revealed the official pricing of the new V12 Vantage S, the latest iteration of their successful and utterly beautiful sports car. Aston’s fastest accelerating production car to date (apart form the One-77) is priced at £138,000.
That is a large amount of money, but in return you get a sexy Aston powered by a 573 PS version of the AM28 6.0-litre V12 engine. It enables the V12S to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 205 mph.
Unlike the normal V12 Vantage, the S version does not come with a manual. The only transmission offered is a new SportshiftIII AMT (automated manual transmission), delivering the engine’s 50 Nm of torque to the rear wheels.
The inspirations behind the V12 Vantage S was Aston’s race-winning GT3 car. It even borrows some of the race car’s technologies, such as the CNC machined combustion chambers and hollow cam shafts. The V12S also features a three-stage adaptive damping with ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Track’ modes, and a quicker steering system than the standard version.
