Porsche is still hard at work refining and fine-tuning their new hyper car, the 918 Spyder. The honing process is continuing in Southern France these days, where a convoy of six 918 Spyders have been spotted out and about doing a group road test.
Supercar spotter Marchettino was at hand to film the convoy as they were going through the beautiful surroundings of Monte Carlo, and later at a gas station. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
You get no only a good look at the car in different liveries and colors, you also get to hear the soundtrack of its race-bred V8:
Come to think of it, maybe the 918 needs all these extensive testings. After all, it is going to be a lot less powerful than its main rivals from Britain and Italy – McLaren P1 and LaFerrari – both of which pack well over 920 horsepower while the Porsche has to make do with 880. What it lacks in power, though, it will more than make up for with handling, economy, and driving fun. The 918 is going to be a more usable hyper car than the other two.
