Callaway Cars, the tuner of all things GM, officially announced they are working on a supercharger package for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. This comes after their supercharger if their supercharger kit for the new Silverado pickup truck, and their Corvette GT3 program. They are really shifting.
They have even released a teaser picture for the 2014 Callaway Corvette Stingray which shows a prominent new hood, featuring some showing off plastic bits, some vents, and the words Callaway and Supercharged etched on it. This appears to be inspired by the old Corvette ZR1, also powered by a supercharged V8.
We are looking forward to see what kind of treatment Callaway has in store for the LT1 V8 engine. In its basic standard format, that unit makes 460 horsepower. With a supercharger bolted on top, new exhaust, and a couple of other upgrades here and there, it should be able to make 600 horsepower with ease.
