Lexus revealed the pricing and specs of the 2014 GX 460 full-size SUV, and the car with the weird face is getting a heavy discount over the last year model. Starting at $49,085, the 2014 Lexus GX 460 is $4,710 or nine percent cheaper than the 2013 version.
That is probably the price Lexus is willing to pay to avoid having to redesign the car’s front-end, which frankly is its biggest flaw. While the exterior is not exactly brilliant, the interior of the GX is one of the best in its class.
For 2014, the GX gets new touch-screen display audio adds an eight-inch screen, backup monitor, HD Radio, Bluetooth audio, automatic phone book transfer, a vehicle information display and complimentary traffic and weather data provided via HD Radio. What’s more, there is new linear espresso wood/abyss black trim and mahogany wood trim (Premium package), as well as new options including Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
And these are all for the base model. There is a Luxury model, which starting at $60,715, offers Adaptable Air Suspension, Navigation, Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intuitive Parking Assist, and 18-inch split six-spoke wheels with liquid graphite finish.
All Lexus GX models are powered by a 301 horsepower 4.6-liter V8 engine with a six-speed ECT-i automatic transmission. It has an EPA rating of 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway.
