Callaway has finished all the prep work and testing on their new Eaton TVS supercharger kit for the Chevrolet L83 “Eco-Tec” engine. The first car to receive the kit proper is the 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, and its sister GMC Sierra 5.3L.
The supercharger system developed by Callaway is specially calibrated to comply with GM’s 2014 electronics standard that control Direct Injection, continuously Variable Valve Timing, Active Fuel Management and other engine functions. the tuner claims that they have arrived at the best setup possible, so not only it improves the drivability and performance of the vehicle, it retains GM factory warranties.
Callaway is also developing bespoke suspension components for improved ride and handling, wheel and tire packages, brake systems and interior upgrades for the Silverado/Sierra. But the engine package remains the most important part, as the supercharged 2014 Callaway Corvette that is in the works uses the same sort of technicalities.
Callaway Silverado and Sierra packages start at $17,395. Final horsepower and torque rating will be revealed soon.
