There is a new version of the Lamborghini Gallardo available and it is called the LP570-4 Squadra Corse. As usual, that names tells you a few things about the car; that is has 570 horsepower, it is four-wheel-drive, and that it is a track-focused road car, hence the Squadra Corse designation.

Squadra Corse is a new department in Lamborghini that manages all motorsport activities from GT3 to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championship. The car itself is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo race car and gets the same sort of aerodynamic features. Adapted directly from the racing car are the carbon fiber removable engine hood with quick-release system, and the carbon fiber rear wing.

Those weight saving measures result in a dry weight of 1340 kilograms, 70 less than the the normal 560 models. Pair that with 570 horsepower, and you can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, reach 200 km/h in just 10.4 seconds, and hit a top speed of 320 km/h. And don’t worry about stopping, because carbon-ceramic brakes are standard.

The Squadra Corse is available in Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and in Rosso Mars (red). You also get gloss black accents and an Italian flag decal adorning the exterior. The wheels are 19-inch big and finished in black, while the brakes callipers are available in red, black or yellow.

The Gallardo Squadra Corse is a track car for those gentlemen drivers who either don’t have the time or the guts to compete in the Trofeo series. They can have half the fun of that by racing this car against other civilians on track days. Lamborghini themselves will organize the “Esperienza” track day events for Squadra Corse owners.
