Porsche specialist Singer Vehicle Design (SVD) – who does the best restomod jobs on old Porsche 911s, turning them into exquisite bespoke machines – announced the unveiling of a special new model at the 2013 Quail Motorsports. Built for a customer, this re-imagined 911 will showcase a series of “firsts” for Singer 911.
Apart from a very unique paint job from Singer’s new catalog, which includes a Racing Blue and Orange inspired by the 1970’s road racing cars, the latest restored 911 – ordered by a customer in Dubai – features ‘second skin’ interior treatment, which according to Singer “evokes the racing chic of a lightweight stripped down race car interior, with the refinement gained from concealed cutting edge and compact sound absorption materials developed for the private jet industry.”
Each Singer 911 is of course bespoke to the customer, and the owner of this model has opted for full carbon fiber body work, carbon fiber race seats with integral shoulder support and adjustable headrests (another Singer first), close ratio 6-speed gearbox with LSD, Ohlins suspension, a super lightweight motorsport spec electrical system, and a singer Cosworth flat-six that makes 360 horsepower.
They didn’t reveal how much this new car has cost, but given the fact that a ‘normal’ Singer 911 starts well over $300K mark, we reckon this one with all its ‘firsts’ easily goes past half a million.
