Hyundai America announced the official pricing for the 2014 modelyear Santa Fe SUV in two Sport and Turbo variants variants. The former starts from $25,605, and the latter from $31,305. Both models are fitted with new features and more standard kit.
The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe which is the base model is powered by a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine developing 190 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo model gets the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder you also find in the Sonata Turbo, with 264 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.
A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, but all-wheel-drive is a costly $1,750 optional extra.
In terms of equipment, while the Premium Package has been made standard on the Santa Fe Turbo model – the reason it costs $2,500 more than the previous model – Hyundai offers a $4,500 Technology package that adds stuff like a Xenon headlights, parking sensors, navigation, a 550W audio system, and heated rear seats.
The only reason to consider the Hyundai Santa Fe used to be its greater value for money than its European and Japanese rivals. We’re not sure that is the case anymore.
