Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse 1 600x400 at IAA 2013: Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse

The latest, and almost certainly the last, version of the Lamborghini Gallardo has been officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is basically a race car for the streets, inspired and based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo racer.

Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse also celebrates the launch of a new department in Lamborghini, called Squadra Corse, that is responsible for all motorsport activities from GT3 to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championships – customer racing in short.

As for the specs of this special model, at 1,340 kg, the Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse is 70 kg lighter than the Gallardo LP 560-4. So with 570 horsepower, the car boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 2.35 kilograms per hp. Which means the performance is pretty brisk.

The car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in just 10.4 seconds. Top speed is 320 km/h. And don’t worry about stopping, as you have got standard carbon-ceramic brake system. The Squadra Corse also comes as standard with the robotized e-gear six-speed transmission and all-wheel-drive. But everything in this car is tuned for sheer thrill.

Visually, Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse is available in Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and Rosso Mars (red), complete with 19-inch wheels and a racing aero kit. The racing inspired interior features lightweight carbon fiber and Alcantara.
