Now that Jaguar is finally on the right track financially and technologically, they are ready to venture into a new segment they wanted to be in for years. They are going to unveil their first-ever utility vehicle in form of the Jaguar C-X17 SUV Concept.
The C-X17 is more of a crossover than a full-blooded SUV, and it boasts a new, highly-advanced, modular aluminium architecture which Jaguar says underpins the innovative future of the brand. This flexible platform can be used to produce a diverse range of cars, which means it will bring down the cost of production.
They have also released a teaser picture for the Jaguar C-X17 SUV Concept, and while it is not very revealing, you can clearly distinguish the silhouette of the car. The top half of the car above the waistline bears a resemblance to the Porsche Cayenne, while the bottom half is all about curves and soft edges. The F-Type-inspired tail lights are also easy to recognize.
The Jaguar C-X17 SUV Concept will be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show along with the recently launched ‘R’ performance models – the XJR and XFR-S – as well as the XF Sportbrake and, of course, the F-Type.
