To give us an idea of how much better the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is compared to the normal V12 and V8 models, the British supercar maker dispatched the car with a performance driving instructor to the National circuit at the Silverstone racetrack. The onboard speed and G-meter figures speak volumes about the car’s superior performance.
The 573 PS V12 Vantage S is the fastest accelerating Aston Martin this side of the One-77, with a 0 to 60 time of 3.7 seconds. Top speed is 205 mph.
Aston Martin V12 Vantage S also features three-stage adaptive damping – another ‘first’ for the Vantage family – which allows the driver to more precisely tailor the car’s dynamic character. ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Track’ modes provide a broad swathe of dynamic performance that can be tuned to better suit the driver’s requirements. The system also governs the level of power steering assistance offered.
In the UK the car is priced from £138,000 RRP; in Germany €179,950 RRP; USA $184,995 MSRP; Dubai $230,995 (US$) and Australia AU$ 389,300 (excluding local taxes where applicable).
