Yesterday in Korea Hyundai Motors unveiled the new generation of its popular luxury sedan, the Genesis. The car looks substantially different than what was promised by the concept models that came before, but still, it’s a fine-looking brute and one that finally cements a corporate look for Hyundai, hopefully.

The thing is, this past couple of years Hyundai has been changing its design so many times that it’s really hard to keep track of them all. It’s a real game of hit and miss. Every new model is completely different than its predecessors, and shares almost nothing with other models.

With the 2015 Hyundai Genesis though, you can see traces of see traces of the Sonata and Equus all over the car. The car has a large and imposing chrome front grille, big headlights with a full set of LEDs, dual exhaust pipes, and LED taillights.

As always, Hyundai compensates for lack of style and prestige with a host of features and equipment. The new Genesis comes with a user-centric interior with materials of greater quality, new infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, a command and control unit like you find in a Mercedes or a BMW, and a traditional analog clock.

The engine lineup for the 2015 Hyundai Genesis includes a 260 hp 3.0 liter V6; a 280 hp 3.3 liter V6; and a 3.8 liter with 315 hp; and a 425 hp V8. The American spec version is yet to be detailed.
