Ferrari released a teaser image of the 458 Challenge Evoluzione, a new version of the 458 Challenge race car, ahead of its debut at Mugello Circuit today. As the name suggests, Ferrari 458 Challenge Evoluzione is an improved version of the car and according to Ferrari it boasts better aerodynamic efficiency.
That much is obvious when you notice the big rear wing this car is sporting, which is missing on the standard Challenge. Ferrari says the car also has a new front splitter, which in combination with the rear spoiler makes a lot more downforce than the standard model, allowing the driver to reach higher limits of performance.
“The 458 Challenge Evoluzione makes full use of the experience gathered in GT racing, in particular on the aerodynamic front,” says Ferrari, but they remain tight-lipped on the car’s performance characteristics. Official details are expected to be released later today, so we will know if the Ferrari 458 Challenge Evoluzione also gets more power or not.
We are also quite keen to know how much that wing and splitter combo cost. If the rear wing on the 599 XX Evo is anything to go by, this set is going to be eye waterlingly expensive.
