Infiniti announced the addition of a new 2.0 liter turbocharged unit to the Q50’s engine lineup at the Guangzhou Motor Show. The new Infiniti Q50 2.0 Liter Turbo will be first launch in China in spring 2014, and later on in the global market. It is supposed to offer a good compromise between power and fuel efficiency for those who do not want to go diesel.
The new engine is a Daimler unit modified by Infiniti to suit the sporty character of the Q50. It makes 214 PS and 320 Nm of torque, and meets the rigorous Euro 5 emission standards thanks to the intercooled turbo system and its direct injection with precise Piezo injectors. The engine provides good pulling power, as its torque is available as low as 1250 rpm. This will counter the turbo lag and makes overtaking easier.
Other engines available for the Infiniti Q50 in the global market include a 3.7-litre petrol, a 3.5-litre hybrid and a 2.2-litre, four cylinder turbo-diesel. Here’s the power figure table for all the engines in the ragne:
