So this is what Porsche is hiding behind those black gaffer tapes that conceal the looks of the new Macan in the official spyhots they release every now and then. The pictures of the production Porsche Macan hit the web thanks to scans of some magazine that leaked early.

We are now wondering why Porsche even bothered concealing this car under camo all this time. Even die-hard Porsche fans would be excused to mistake this thing for a Cayenne. Sure the bumpers are a bit different, and the whole thing appears to be a bit more aerodynamic, but it’s uncanny how like Cayenne it looks.

Porsche Macan is, of course, smaller than its SUV brother. Guess you can call the Macan a crossover. It doesn’t show in the pictures, but the Macan is pretty much the same size as the Range Rover Evoque. Porsche’s baby SUV will definitely be the best driver’s car in this segment. Not that it matters of course, as that Porsche badge is enough for the car to sell in millions.

2014 Porsche Macan will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. Official details are expected to be released soon.
