There is no doubt that a large number of people in America are eagerly waiting for the launch of the new 2015 Cadillac Escalade. So to get their engines revving in anticipation, we have some fresh new details about the America’s most popular SUV, which in its latest version has become more luxurious and greener than ever. Well, green by Escalade standards.
The new Caddy Escalade is powered by a EcoTec3 6.2L V-8 FlexFuel (L86) featuring direct fuel injection with Active Fuel Management, which is officially rated at 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and mated to a Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel economy ratings are yet to be announced.
The Escalade is, naturally, a very sizable thing, boasting a length of 203.9 inches, a width of 80.5 inches, and a wheelbase of 116 inches. There is also an ESV version which is 224.3 inches long and offers a 130 inch wheelbase.
Available with seven exterior colors and two interior trims, the new Escalade’s standard kit includes Magnetic Ride Control system – even though it features a live axle at the back – 20-inch wheels, and a host of convenience features including Park Assist, hands-free tailgate, rear-view camera, and remote start.
In the Luxury trim you get more advanced stuff such as 22-inch wheels, sunroof, Intellibeam headlights, color head-up display, power fold-and-tumble second row seating, as well as Cadillac’s vibrating seats or Safety Alert Seat as they call it, part of the Driver Awarness system. The Premium package for the 2015 Cadillac Escalade will add Automatic Collision Preparation and adaptive cruise control, as well as automatic brake intervention, part of the Driver Assist package, exclusive exterior appointments, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
