Google Maps has added yet another hugely interesting feature to its amazing Street View service that is going to make car lovers very happy indeed. It is a virtual tour of the McLaren Technology Center in Woking, UK, where a collection of new and old racing cars and prototypes are on display.

We had heard about the McLaren Technology Center being as clean and tidy as a hospital. Now we believe it. Even the workshops and assembly lines are immaculately clean. It’s amazing. Have a look around this facility, and you realize why McLaren cars feel the way they feel – a bit clinical. Clarkson was right. Nobody’s ever put a whoopee cushion on the manager’s seat here.

Thanks to this Google Maps Street View feature you get see some of the Center’s building and some truly amazing machines. But don’t expect a fully detailed tour of the factory and the R&D department. Only a select few will ever get that royal treatment.
