We have already seen what the new Ferrari 458 Speciale is capable of in the hands of some of the world’s most respected journalists. But it is always good to hear it from the people who made it the secrets of a new model. Here we have Ferrari test driver Rafaele De Simone explaining the Speciale while lapping Fiorano.
Fiorano is Ferrari’s own test track where all the new models, and racing cars, are signed off.
Those who have experienced the delicacy and exquisiteness of the standard Ferrari 458 Italia probably thought there is no way Ferrari can improve on it. But with the Speciale they have done just that. Sure, some of the creature comfort has been lost, but you don’t buy a Ferrari for its comfort and convenience anyway. The Speciale takes the 458’s driving joy, and multiplies it by 10 thanks to some clever chassis engineering, 620 horsepower, and electronic systems such as the side slip control.
