Just as the new 2015 Mustang makes it world debut at the Detroit Motor Show, Ford announced that they’ve managed to squeeze the car into the highly-anticipated Need For Speed movie, to be released this spring. The car will make its silver screen debut driven by Aaron Paul.
The role of the 2015 Ford Mustang in the movie should not be confused with the custom 2014 Mustang hero car that will be driven in most scenes. The new Mustang will apparently make only a brief appearance. It is more of a publicity thing than an actual role, but probably enough to keep the fans happy; especially as it comes in a juicy red.
The Mustang has starred in many great films and lots of TV series over the past 50 years. Ford has counted over 3,200 appearances. They have even created a website dedicated to the Mustang’s acting career, called MustangIMDB.com.
“On-screen or on the road, the sight and sound of Mustang has been inspiring fans for nearly five decades,” said Jim Farley, Ford executive vice president, global marketing, sales and service and Lincoln. “The feeling of optimism and being in control that Mustang’s world-class power and performance provide is a perfect match for Aaron Paul’s character in Need for Speed.”
