This past couple of years China has been the sole destination of special editions Bentley models, because they sell like hot cakes over there. Now though, to stop their European customers feel left alone, Bentley announced the launch of the Mulsanne Birkin Edition, exclusively designed for the green continent.
Bentley Mulsanne Birkin is named after Sir Henry ‘Tiger’ Tim Birkin, an original Bentley boy who used to drive his car round and round Europe all the way through 1920s and 1930s. The car features a number of bespoke exterior and interior appointments that set it apart from your normal run of the mill Mulsanne.
The Birkin Mulsanne comes can be had in three exclusive exterior colors, including Ghost White, Damson, or a two-tone Fountain Blue and Dark Sapphire. It is further distinguished by a set of unique 21-inch wheels from the Mulsanne concept, a striking 3D ‘Flying B’ logo stitched into the vehicle headrests and inlaid into the wood of the front fascia and rear picnic tables, and numbered door sill plaques.
In the Bentley Mulsanne Birkin you are well covered for kit. Besides the usual luxury goods every Bentley is born with, the Birkin has the Entertainment Specification fitted to it which adds twin 8″ LCD screens in the rear of the seat headrests, a DVD player, a Wi-Fi hotspot, the Naim for Bentley premium audio system and iPads integrated into the hand-crafted solid wood picnic tables.
For those more interested in driving, Bentely offers the Mulliner Driving Specification with an ‘Sport’ setting for the vehicle’s Drive Dynamics Control system. A sport button seems a bit out of place in a Bentley, but it’s a nice feature to have anyway.
Bentley Mulsanne Birkin is limited to 22 cars for Europe only. Pricing is yet to be revealed.
