Toyota Supra 600x365 at Toyota Supra Revival Rumors Gather Momentum

Ever since Toyota returned to the world of sports car making with the GT86, there have been rumors flying around that it is only a matter of time before they also come up with a new Supra. Even some of the company’s officials hinted that such a thing might be in the works. The latest report indicating at the possibility of a new Supra comes, oddly, from the trademark office.

Some fellas with extra sensitive antennas found out a couple of days ago that Toyota has trademarked the name “Mirai” which they believe is what the new Toyota Supra is going to be called. Personally, we prefer Supra better, but hey, as long as Toyota makes the thing we don’t care what they call it.

The said, the name Supra carries with it the weight of a legend; a car loved and cherished by enthusiasts for generations. Mirai could be the name for a concept version that will eventually lead to a production Supra.

Now you might be thinking what is the big deal, it’s just a Toyota at the end of the day. That is true. But think of this way: the next Supra will be a bigger, more powerful version of the GT86. It will offer, potentially, twice the fun of the small car. And for that reason we really do hope they make it happen.
