Ferrari confirmed the unveiling of a mysterious new model on February 12, which is today. They could have given more notice, but the launch of a new Ferrari is always a cause for celebration, even if it’s just a new version of the California.
Mind you, it is not confirmed yet that Ferrari 149M Project, as it’s known for the time being, is actually a California, but all reports and rumors indicate that it is. What’s more, the final teaser Ferrari has released partially reveals a silhouette very similar to that of the current Cali.
Reports are suggesting all sort of crazy things about the new Ferrari. Some say it is an FXX version of the car; a hard-core track-only version designed for Corse Clienti program. Other say it will feature a brand-new twin-turbo 3.8 liter version shared with Maserati Quattroporte.
Actually, that second rumor is probably true, as turbocharged test mules have been spotted on more than one occasion at Fiorano this past couple of months. We shall find out all about it soon enough. Stay tuned.
