We have seen Chris Harris driving all the cars in this test individually before. But this is the first time they come together for a head to head battle, and the first proper group test of the new Porsche 911 GT3 against two of its main rivals, the Aston V12 Vantage S and Mercedes C63 Black. This should be interesting.

Traditionally, the Porsche always wins this sort of tests, as it they consist mainly of heavy track work, and Porsche is at its best on the race track. After getting that out of the way, Chris takes all three of these cars to some real-world roads to see how things will work out there.

The diversity in this group test is limited to the engines. There’s a V12, a V8, and a flat-six. Other than that, all cars are two-door coupes; they are all, effectively, two-seaters; and they are all rear-wheel-drive; and they all have paddle-shifters. The winner, then, is the one that does things better than the other two and delivers more fun doing it.
