Following its debut in a close-to-production guise at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year, the new 2015 Acura TLX will show up at the New York Auto Show in April, dressed fully in production trim. The car is expected to look virtually identical to the concept version (pictured above), which is of course a good thing.

As for the specs and details, 2015 Acura TLX will come with two new powertrains, including a 2.4-liter mated to an all-new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 3.5-liter V-6 mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission.

Both models will be available with Acura’s Precision All-Wheel Steer system, but four-wheel-drive, the next-generation Super-Handling All Wheel Drive system, can only be ordered for the V-6 version.

The new TLX is also much improved in terms of refinement and safety. The stiffness is enhanced, along with soundproofing and body sealing, while there is also an electronic Active Noise Control system. In terms of safety, the car comes with Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow and Blind Spot Indicator (BSI).

Pricing and performance figures for the 2015 Acura TLX will be announced closer to launch.
