Two years into its production, the Toyota Camry is getting a proper facelift, and the end result is set for debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show. This then will probably be what Toyota officials hinted at when they said they are working on a more ‘emotional’ Camry.
That doesn’t mean the car is going to be moody. No, emotional in Toyota’s dictionary means less boring, which means the Toyota Camry Facelift that is coming to New York has a much more exciting design that the one it replaces.
Toyota has already shown with the new generation Corolla that they are capable of designing a sensible family sedan that doesn’t look like death. They did it by swapping the previous car’s soulless and tasteless panels with ones that have more curves and more aggressive lines. You can expect a same sort of treatment for the new Camry.
The refreshed design is planned for the Camry mainly to keep up the momentum and cement its position as one of the best-selling cars in its class in America. According to Autonews statistics, Toyota has sold 400,000 units of this generation of Camry in the past two years, and they would like to continue this performance.
