The Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has been such a success that Ferrari announced back then they are going to make more facilities like it. The next one is going to be opened in 2016 in Barcelona, Spain, and it is called Ferrari Land. The 75,000 square metres facility, whose main building is designed to resemble a Formula 1, car will be located in the PortAventura resort.

Just like the Ferrari World AD, Spain’s Ferrari Land will feature a range of exciting attractions for enthusiasts of all ages. Europe’s highest and fastest vertical accelerator is only one of them. Being inside the PortAventura means visitors will also enjoy a luxury five-star establishment with 250 rooms, restaurants and a driving simulator. The resort already welcomes 4,000,000 visitors a year.

The project is led by the investment firm Investindustrial, who has dedicated a 100 million Euros to it. If things go according to plan, Ferrari Land Spain will be officially opened in two years, and, judging by the renderings of the facility they’ve released, it is going to give Ferrari Park Abu Dhabi a good run for its money.

Andrea Perrone, CEO of Ferrari Brand, the Ferrari subsidiary company that manages the Prancing Horse’s brand-related activities, added: “After the success of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, we received many, many requests to develop new amusement parks. We carefully sifted through the various proposals and decided to accept Investindustrial’s because it is a very solid plan developed by competent people that will bring the magic of Ferrari to Spain, a nation where we have many supporters and enthusiasts, and to which large numbers of tourists flock each year, in part thanks to PortAventura. This new licence further underscores our brand’s presence in this area. Ferrari Land will delight the whole family and not just Formula 1 fans. We will continue to evaluate other proposals for theme parks outside Europe at our leisure: the brand is our most important asset and we have to enhance its value without diluting it.”
