Along with the new Boxster GTS, Porsche also revealed the hard-top version, the Cayman GTS. These cars are related by blood, and save the roof, they are identical. However, the 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS is slightly more powerful and a tinsy bit sportier than its soft-top brother. It is as if the addition of the roof has made the whole thing more dynamic.
So with 340 hp (250 kW) and 380 Nm of torque, the Cayman GTS is even more fun to drive than the standard version, even if it didn’t’ have the Sport Chrono package and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), both available as standard on this version.
The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, which is 0.3 secs quicker than a standard Cayman S with PDK. You can also get a manual, but that is slower and less fuel efficient.
Distinguished by a set of stylish black painted 20-inch diameter Carrera S alloy wheels riding on 235/35 tyres at the front and 265/35 tyres at the rear, the 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS can also be had with the sports chassis configuration that lowers the ride height by 20 mm.
Visual modifications inside and out are similar to the Boxster GTS, and include revised aprons featuring gloss black elements, as well as leather an Alcantara for the cabin.
2015 Porsche Cayman GTS starts from £55,397 in the British market.
