Opel’s next trick to attract customers to their Adam city car is creating special editions named after celebrities. In Italy, for example, they just came up with the Opel Adam VR46 limited edition, which is an homage to the local MotoGP hero, Valentino Rossi.

They say the VR46 is developed jointly with Rossi, which must mean he agreed to land his name to the car in exchange for a considerable sum of money. Which is, of course, fine. But don’t expect superbike levels of performance from this Adam.

The VR46 treatment is strictly visual, and includes unique two-tone paint jobs by which you can make 12 different looks. You get three colors for the roof – carbon black, matte black and dull gray – and four colors for the body – metallic black, yellow, red and white. There is also a livery package with VR46 logo in fluorescent yellow, adding a personal touch to the car.

Opel Adam VR46 is based on the SLAM trim level.

Valentino Rossi commented: “Opel ADAM convinced me immediately, and not only for the lines, accessories, technology. I find it really fun with the possibility of being able to customize many variations, I tried so many different combinations: I do not know how many there are, but certainly enough to be able to take some satisfaction.”
