Porsche at 2014 Geneva Motor Show

Geneva Motor Show has always been a special vent for Porsche fans, as the German automaker always revealed their finest, most advanced models at this venue. This year does not have anything fine and special to show, but they do have a couple of new racing cars they want to show to you.

You should cut Porsche a little bit of slack, as they’ve done their share of surprising us with awesome new models throughout 2013 and early 2014. From the debut of the production version of the 918, to the new versions of the 991, including the Turbo, the GT3 and the Targa, and of course, the Macan, they’ve been really busy.

So at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show Porsche is letting their hair down a bit, but still putting on a good show with the new Porsche 919 Hybrid and the new 911 RSR. Both cars will race in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and Le Mans 24 Hours, but the 919 is the most significant, for it is the spiritual successor to one of the most iconic Porsche models of all time, the 917.

The fans of production Porsche models won’t be disappointed, either. They will see the new 911 Targa, which with its retro roof arrangement paying homage to the original 911 Targa design from 1960s offers a very appealing prospect, and the Macan S Diesel, a version of the new crossover with a 258 hp engine with PDK transmission.
