In the run-up to the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours, those who visit the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart will enjoy a special display of the brand’s historic racing cars featured in the “24 Hours for Eternity. Le Mans.” exhibition. Running from March 26 to July 13, the exhibition will feature the new Porsche 919 Hybrid as well.

Porsche has invested heavily in their 2014 Le Mans campaign, as it marks the return of the German automaker to Le Mans after years of absence. They have put together a hugely advanced car, and even hired big named such as Mark Webber to drive it. It would be a kick in the teeth for Porsche if their sister company Audi scores another easy win.

The Le Mans exhibition at Porsche Museum is held at a large section of the facility transformed to look like the racetrack. It features re-enactments of racing situations from the victorious racing years on life-sized wall art and track sections, dating back to 1951, is the main attraction of the display.

You will also a great number of legendary race cars at this special exhibit. Alongside the 919 Hybrid, the 1969 Porsche 908/2 Spyder long tail, the 1971 Porsche 911 T/R, the 1974 Porsche 911 3.0 RSR as well as the 1981 Porsche 936/81 Spyder, 1979 Porsche 935, the Porsche 911 GT2 Le Mans, the 1994 Porsche 962 GT Dauer Le Mans and the WSC LMP1 of 1998.

And as a final homage to the world’s most famous motorsport event, on the weekend of the race, the Porsche Museum will be open for the first time for more than 24 hours straight.
