Music guru and TV personality Simon Cowell is a proper petrolhead and does not shy away from indulging his love of expensive cars. He has owned many luxury and exotic cars such as Audi R8, Rolls Royce Phantom and Bugatti Veyron; all of them obvious choices for a wealthy celebrity like him.

Cowell’s latest acquisition, though, stands out, as it reflects a kind of sophisticated and exquisite taste you don’t really expect from such a character. It’s an Eagle Speedster, a unique take on the legendary Jaguar E-Type, built by a small firm in Devon.

Simon, apparently, fell in love with the Eagle Speedster after he saw it on Top Gear, and decided to order one. It took a while, but the car is finally delivered, as confirmed by Cowell’s Twitter pictures. He seems to be quite chuffed with his choice, as he calls the Eagle “the most beautiful car in the world.”

Eagle Speedster features a bespoke, coachbuilt aluminum body fitted with a modern chassis, modern brakes, modern suspension, and a modern straight-six engine with a heavenly soudtrack. The design of the car, while strongly resembling the E-Type, has been caricaturized a bit in the right places, such as the windscreen.

Since the Speedster is built to order and bespoke to the individual, the actual price is undisclosed. But according to Top Gear, it starts from £500,000 GBP.
