Toyota announced the details of the 2015 modelyear GT86 which comes with a couple of minor updates which make the car tighter and sweeter to drive, and make it nicer to live with. There are not visual updates, apart from a new aerodynamic shark-fin antenna and plus new silver and white exterior colors.
The suspension system on the 2015 Toyota GT86 has gotten the most attention, as the front suspension is revised for a more rigid fixation while the rear shock absorbers are improved to deliver a more stable damping and improved friction control. Toyota says these changes make the handling of the GT86 even more communicative than before, while increasing the smoothness of the ride.
2015 Toyota GT86 also gets some much needed interior upgrades in form of a new carbon fiber motif dashboard insert. To be honest though, that is not really enough to make the GT’s interior feel less cheap and outdated. But then you don’t buy a car like this for its sense of luxury.
The 2.0 liter four-cylinder boxer engine remains intact for 2015, developing the same 197bhp as before. Later this year Toyota may or may not introduce a more powerful version of the car, but nothing has been confirmed apart from the fact that Toyota is not really happy with the GT86’s sales.
