To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford Mustang, and to compete in 2014 HOT ROD Magazine Power Tour, RK Motors is preparing what is quite possibly the most powerful classic Mustang ever made. It’s a 1967 Shelby GT500, equipped by RK with a modern 800+ horsepower engine.
RK Motors 1967 Shelby GT500 tribute car will be unveiled during the Mustang ceremony at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, April 18. It is finished in red with the classic Shelby white stripes running the length of the car.
While it looks impeccably original, RK Motors GT500 is a modern car underneath, featuring Jon Kaase Heads, Fast XFI ECU Port Fuel Injection, Billet Specialties drive system, Bryant Billet Crankshaft, custom 3” Exhaust and Magnaflow mufflers, Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission, Custom Detroit Speed Alumaframe, complete with coil-over shocks in the front and Detroit Speed quadra-link suspension in the rear, and massive Baer calipers and rotors.
The wheels on RK Motors 1967 Shelby GT500 are Vintage HA Series 427 Shelby, wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Tires. It should be awesome seeing an old Mustang smoking the best of today’s supercars in a head to head challenge!
