2014 is turning out to be a great year for classic car collectors, with unique cars popping everywhere at auctions and records getting smashed every other day. The latest collectible hitting the auction block is this 1983 One-Off Porsche 935 Street.
This car is one of the first models built by Porsche Exclusive department based on an order by a rich Saudi businessman. It started out as a 930, but it went under a thorough modifications program and received many of the 935 racing car’s high-performance parts including the suspension, brakes, and the iconic wide body.
Porsche 935 Street is a road legal machine, as it features a turbocharged 3.3-liter engine from the 934. Despite its race car roots, the Street is fairly civilized, boasting a leather interior and a top-notch audio system. The Brilliant Red exterior color is also bespoke to this model.
The Saudi owner of the car, Mansour Ojjeh, has not put too many miles on it. The car has racked up only 12,000 miles. Ojjeh is the CEO of TAG Group, which among other brands such as TAG Heuer also owns a large chunk of McLaren Group. The car is offered for sale by Bonhams at their Spa Classic sale.
