A lawsuit has been filed against Porsche AG regarding the fiery Carrera GT accident that killed actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas last year in Los Angeles. It’s been filed by Kristine Rodas, the widow of Roger Rodas who was the driver of the Porsche Carrra GT at the time of the accident.
Mrs Rodas accuses Porsche of not fixing the car’s faulty suspension, and not putting a crash cage and racing fuel cell in the car, even though they claim the Carrera GT is “is as close to a racecar as you can get.”
She blames Porsche for creating a car that is potentially dangerous, and not doing anything to protect the occupants. She mentions in the papers that there have been many fatal accidents involving Porsche Carrera GT. Rodas is represented by top Hollywood attorney Mark Geragos. But her case does not look very good.
For one thing, Carrera GT was made well over a decade ago and at that time it complied with all the safety regulations. Also, the official Police reports from the scene of the accident indicates that Roger Rodas was indeed speeding, doing about 90 mph in a 55 zone, when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a lamp post.
