Much to the delight of Ford fans in Australia, the Performance division announced the launch of new limited edition GT F sedan and Pursuit Ute. Mind you, the rejoicing may not last very long, as these models are the last of their breed before Ford shuts down the production plants.
Still, at least they are going out with a bang. Ford Performance Vehicles GT F is the most powerful GT sedan ever produced, boasting a 480 horsepower 5.0-litre V8 engine which comes with a transient overboost function. Once activated, the system increases the output by up to 15 percent.
Unfortunately, the styling is less appealing than the engine. FPV GT F features ‘black out’ panel extends over the roof and rear deck lid and ‘raccoon eyes’, which are both unique for sure, but not very pretty. The same bonnet/roof/rear deck black-out theme has been given to the Ute version as well. Speaking of the Ute, this one is powered by a 430 horsepower version of the same supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine in the GT F.
Ford Performance Vehicles will build 500 of the FPV GT F sedans for the Australian market, with an additional 50 built for New Zealand. The Ute is limited to just 120 units in total.
