This 1963 Corvette Stingray is one of those cars Jay Leno loved so much, he actually bought it sight unseen when the opportunity presented itself. He was blown away by this car when he was 13 years old, and when he finally got one, instead of restomoding it, he decided to restore the car to its original stock condition.
That’s where master restorer Mike McCluskey comes in. He knows more about Corvettes than probably any man alive. Most of it, according to Jay, is useless information, but hey, that’s passion.
Leno’s 1963 Corvette Stingray is a very special example as it boasts many rare features. It has the split rear window, the unique hub caps, silver exterior – which was the most popular color for the Stingray back in the day, and black leather interior. And of course, there is that fuel injection engine which was something akin to witchcraft 50 years ago.
