Not that we are bored with the normal Ferrari LaFerrari because we see it on a daily basis, but we would love to see a new variant of it, especially if it’s going to look this good. LaFerrari’s design is simply too awesome to be dropped after just 499 units.
One way to save it would be for Ferrari to launch a LaFerrari Spider. This rendering shows you what such car would look like. By simply removing the roof and swapping the gullwing doors for normal one, you will have a fantastic open-top LaFerrari which, theoretically, should double the thrill of driving one.
There are a couple of issues with this idea, however, that we can’t help but notice. First, there is the problem with the roof arrangement. Because it’s a mid-engined car, there isn’t much room to store the roof, be it soft or hard, in the LaFerrari Spider. So it’s going to have to be a removable roof like what you get with the Lamborghini Aventador.
But that’s nothing compared to the next issue, which is Ferrari’s lack of interest in making the LaFerrari Spider. They have bled on this car and even scarified the F1 team by taking resources away from it to work on LaFerrari project. They are not going through all that again; at least not for the next ten years or so.
