Supercars catching fire for no apparent reason have become so common in recent years that it is hardly surprising anymore. That said, we are not entirely sure if that is the case with the Ferrari LaFerrari. An Instagram user has posted this picture that shows a mildly cooked LaFerrari with no explanation, causing a bit of a stir.
This may very well be an incident in which the owner accidentally parked his LaFerrari near an open flame which then cased the rear bumper to slightly melt. It is not enough evidence to mark the LaFerrari fire-prone.
But as mentioned, these fires have happened so many times that we cannot help but think there might be something to it. After all, nobody thought that Porsche 911 GT3, one of the best-built cars in the world, would have such a problem. In this case, the location of the damage on this LaFerrari does hint at faulty exhaust that gets way too hot.
Ferrari’s last fire case dates back to 2010 when they first launched the 458 Italia. Since then they’ve had a clear record. Let’s hope this incident has nothing to do with the car itself.
