Mercedes-Benz dials up the teasing campaign as we get closer to the debut of the new AMG GT sports car. They have been putting a lot of emphasize on the GT’s engine lately, releasing its detailed specs and soundtrack clips. Here’s another teaser for the new M178 unit.
In the latest video AMG engineers talk enthusiastically about the thrill of driving the Mercedes AMG GT powered by their brand-new 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, and stuff you can do with its driving modes switch.
In terms of power and performance, Mercedes AMG GT will be getting 510 horsepower to begin with, with the possibility of more powerful variants in the future. That power should be enough for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in around 4.5 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The new 4.0 liter engine will gradually replace the current 5.5 liter unit in all AMG products, except the 65 models which will keep their V12s.
