It is interesting that the more you cut from the BMW X6, the better looking it gets. We saw that with the new X4 Sport Activity BMW recently launched, and now we see it again in these unofficial renderings of the BMW X2, reportedly set for debut in 2017.
Granted, the car looks a bit ungainly at the back, but the idea of a two-door BMW Activity Coupe is very intriguing, for it will deliver a fantastic drive (at least if the X4 is any indication) plus decent capabilities for light off-roading. What’s more, this small crossover will be hugely efficient and rather affordable compared to its bigger brother.
To make the BMW X2 you see here, designer Theophilus Chin mixed the existing X4 with what appears to be the 2-Series coupe front-end. An M Performance styling kit consisting of aggressive front and rear bumpers and side skirts, plus a set of appropriately large wheels complete the look. This could be the first truly desirable member of BMW X family.
The only thing that can make this concept more interesting is the thought of M235i’s 330 horsepower turbocharged engine in this car. That’ll be a lot of fun in a compact crossover.
