In another futile attempt to convince people minivans are cool, Toyota has come up with a rap music video that serves as the official Swagger Wagon commercial for the 2015 Sienna. This seems to be a rip-off of Fiat 500L “Motherhood” ad, but whereas Fiat’s rap was cool and funny, this one’s just creepy.
That’s a shame, because Toyota has put a lot of effort into making the Swagger Wagon commercial, including shelling out for rapper Busta Rhymes who makes a brief appearance and, well, busts a rhyme about the virtues of the Sienna:
Now, some say Busta actually did more harm than good to the car’s image with his appearance in this ad, but the fact is Toyota wanted the Swagger Wagon clip to go viral, which it did. It really doesn’t make minivans any less uncool, nor does it make us think any better of the Sienna. It does, however, cause serious damage to our affinity for hiphop.
