Ferrari 458 family will soon welcome two new members. They include an open-top Spider version of the Speciale, and a thoroughly updated and face-lifted version, currently known as the M458-T. They will all the 458 moniker to soldier on for another four or five years.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider will come out sooner than the facelift version. In fact, it is said to be headed for Pebble Beach Auto Week next weekend. Mind you, at Pebble Beach the car will only be shown to a select group of Ferrari friends in a private viewing session.

The rest of us are going to have to wait until Paris Motor Show in October to see the new drop-top Speciale. Not that there is much to see, to be honest. After all, the only new thing about the Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider will be the folding hardtop, which it borrows from the normal 458 Spider.

The more interesting forthcoming 458 is the M458-T which will mark the end of the road for naturally-aspirated Ferrari V8 engines. The car will come with a beefed up version of the turbocharged V8 they use in the California T, estimated to produce around 700 horsepower. The M458-T won’t be revealed until 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
