There is now one less Ferrari 575M Superamerica in the world thanks to a Chinese driver who crashed his on a Chinese highway. By the looks of things, the crash has been quite severe, as the car appears to be destroyed beyond repair.

Both front and rear ends of this Ferrari 575M Superamerica are smashed to bits. The impact has taken most of the car’s glorious V12 engine out at the front, while at the back it has lost an entire buttock along with its hips. It’s kind of painful to watch.

The Superamerica is a special and limited edition of just 599 units of the Ferrari 575 Maranello. It features an innovative rotating roof, also featured on the 599 Aperta later on, which for a brief period made it one of the fastest open-top cars in the world.

So this Ferrari 575M Superamerica is gone, but they can at least salvage some of its working parts, so other intact models can be kept on the roads for longer.
