Toyota is joining the Vision party for Gran Turismo 6, designing an exclusive virtual concept for the game based on the FT1 Concept of 2014 NAIAS. Previewed in this video teaser, Toyota FT-1 Vision GT showcases a sporty car with lots of racing paraphernalia fitted to it, hinting at its intended role in the game as a track car.
The original Toyota FT-1 concept is held in high regard among the sports cars fans, as they believe this concept previews next generation Supra. Toyota has not ruled out this possibility, and has in fact confirmed the development of a hybrid sports car in partnership with BMW.
The new car will be built in a joint operation like the one that spawned the GT86. BMW’s side of the deal will get them a replacement for the Z4. Toyota’s version of the car may or may not be called Supra, but either way, it’ll be a helluva sports car powered by the same hybrid technology Toyota uses in their LMP1 race car.
You will soon be able to play with the Toyota FT-1 Vision GT concept on your Play Station. But to get your hands on the real life sports car it will result in, you are going to have to wait till 2017.
