Dodge took the wraps off the new 2015 modelyear version of the Viper super car, revealing that the rumors about it getting only a tiny power upgrade were spot on. The new Viper is still powered by the same 8.4 liter V10 engine, but now it makes 645 horsepower, which is 5 more than before.
That extra 5 horsepower is probably there to carry the weight of the Dodge emblem, which is making a return on the 2015 Viper after the SRT brand went belly up. To set the latest model apart from old one – the one with terrible sales figures – Dodge decided to increase the options and trim levels.
So the 2015 Dodge Viper comes with a new GT trim that slots between the base model and the GTS, offering a leather and Alcantara interior plus five-way traction control and adjustable suspension. There are also a couple of special edition models for those who want more exclusivity.
2015 Dodge Viper TA 2.0 is an interesting new offering, which, as the name suggests, is an updated version of the old Time Attack. It comes with a carbon fiber aero kit and the famous carbon X-brace, plus special colors, racing suspension, Brembo brakes and Sidewinder II wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
There is also a new Viper GTS Ceramic Blue Edition available, offering a more luxurious alternative. Limited to 40 units, the Ceramic Blue come with a blue exterior accented with satin black elements and complemented with Rattler wheels in Black Vapor Chrome, and Nappa leather and Alcantara interior with carbon trims and contrast stitching.
