Zagato is fully back in coachbuilding mode, putting out one of a kind, built to order creations one after another. A few months ago they unveiled the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato which was met with success in spite of its terrible looks, and now they’ve come up with this, a Shooting Brake version of the Aston Martin Virage.
Set to be unveiled at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance 2014 in France, Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato is a one-off built for a customer who wanted a collectible modern car. So what Zagato designers did was take styling cues from the V8 Vantage and Volante models of the 80s, mix them with traditional Zagato features, and apply the whole thing to a Virage.
The unique body style, the head and tail lights, and most importantly, the double bubble roof, they are all telltale signs this Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake is a Zagato product. And as with most Zagato products, aesthetics triumphs practicality in this car. Not that it matters really, because this is more of an art work than a means for getting about.
More details about the Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato will be revealed at the Chantilly event.
